14 Questions You're Refused To Ask Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. This bonus could exceed the damage a weapon upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is generally a good thing, it can have some negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are extremely lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it could change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with circular arrows within the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required for each level will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large number of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you're able to withstand a rout with friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed give the user a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to the potions.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade in the event that you make use of it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. For example splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item). The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and refills the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a function but is not particularly important such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrade s, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a brand new trinket. You can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the older one, and come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are not needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that they won't replace soon (for instance an earring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.
When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
